01 Overview
What I built
I built Partuno as open-source model-context tooling for electronics sourcing and part research.
The system
I built Partuno as an open-source MCP server for component sourcing and engineer-facing decisions.
I designed it to give part search and evaluation a normalized workflow across multiple distributor channels.
I publish the source on GitHub; package listings document the current release and active maintenance.

02 Challenge
Where it got hard
I had to bring APIs, pricing context, and comparable recommendations into one workflow.
The sourcing problem
I needed normalized metadata so one request could compare vendors on consistent attributes.
I needed recommendations to include pricing, availability, and substitution context so raw API responses were easier to use.
I kept credential handling local and compatible with self-hosted MCP deployment modes.
03 Process
How I structured it
I organized Partuno around normalized data, search abstraction, and a workflow that supports decisions.
The implementation
I integrated distributor APIs and normalized part attributes into schemas the comparison logic can use.
I added pricing visibility, lifecycle and compliance checks, lead-time context, and substitute discovery support.
I added local credential paths, optional remote or self-hosted deployment modes, and packaging for MCP clients.

04 Outcome
Where it landed
I maintain Partuno as an active public tool for continued sourcing work.
The result
I use Partuno to compare parts and find substitutes across distributor sources.
The public repository and package listings show Partuno’s current footprint.
